Clean Up is an extension that adds a sub-menu to the “clean up” item of the “Special” menu. From this sub-menu, you can choose how your window will be cleaned : by name, by size, by kind, by label, by date, by version or by comment.
Clean Up is freeware. It may be distributed freely, provided that it is unmodified and that it stays with this document. This software may not be sold.
Clean Up requires System 7.5. It should work fine on every Macintosh model.
Be sure to have the “Scriptable Finder Extension” installed.
Installation
To install Clean Up, just drop it in your Extensions folder inside your System folder. When it is installed, Clean Up displays its icon during startup. If the icon is crossed out, then your system doesn't support Clean Up (see Requirements above).
To deinstall Clean Up, simply remove it from the Extensions folder.
Foreign languages
Although Clean Up should work fine with every version of System 7.5, it will display its menu in english. If you want it displayed in another language, you need to modify the resource 'STR#' ID 128. The file named “French strings” contains this resource in french.
How it works…
Clean Up patch MenuSelect to add its menu. If an item in the “clean up” sub-menu is choosen, it sends an AppleEvent to the Finder asking it to clean the window.
